Skalar Modern is a Mid-century modern gallery situated in the town of Hudson in upstate New York. The venue first opened its door to an American clientele in 2005. Soon after, it gained international recognition for its forward-thinking and curatorial selection of mostly European home furnishings, accessories and lighting. The gallery offers pieces not only by masters such as Gio Ponti, Boris Lacroix, Mathieu Mategot but also other less-known, often young and upcoming talents. Owner Danusia Jarecka has created a sophisticated collection of objects you can find in many private residences on both sides of the Atlantic, as well as at The Corner Hotel in Tivoli and Ace Hotel in New York City. Her latest acquisitions are pieces from the Eastern Europe, recently rediscovered outstanding designs from what once was hidden behind the Iron Curtain.
